This Gibsea 43 is the 4 cabin version offering versatile accommodation options combined with the powerful sailing performance and strong construction these yachts are renowned for. Recently launched, she has new anodes, antifouling and cutlass bearing etc and is now ready for new owners to step aboard and cruise.
The Gibsea 43 has proved to be a capable, safe and comfortable cruiser. This example has an “as new” in-mast mainsail and a furling genoa with electric primary winches so she is easy to sail shorthanded. Her underwater shape and deep keel give an impressive sailing performance and her powerful engine and bowthruster make light work of marina manouvering. Twin wheels in the teak lined cockpit allow easy access forward and there is plenty of room for the crew to relax away from the helm.
Below decks this Gibsea 43 offers the versatile 3 or 4 cabin accommodation layout. Aft at either side of the companionway steps are two good sized double aft cabins. The powerful Volvo Penta (Perkins) engine is located under the steps and has good all round maintenance access. The chart table and navigation area is located to starboard and forward of this “U” shaped seating and an island seat surround the saloon table. Opposite to port is a practical “U” shaped galley with lots of excellent stowage and a large fridge / freezer. Aft of the galley is a very good sized heads / shower compartment. There is excellent ventilation in the saloon with many opening hatches and coachroof windows that allow plenty of natural light.
The forward end of the saloon has a walk thru with a spacious heads / shower compartment to port and a twin bunk cabin opposite to starboard ideal for use on passage. The forepeak area houses a double cabin but with movable panels this layout can be converted to an en-suite double owner`s cabin with the lower berth of the twin cabin making a large settee. It would also be possible to convert this to a workshop / storage area for long distance cruising.
