This Moody 45AC has very attractive classic lines and her hull is finished in a beautiful British Raccing Green. However, make no mistake, she is every bit a “modern classic” with her underwater shape and deep modern keel giving her a fast offshore performance combined with first class seaworthiness that is also easily handled in close confines. Her sloop rig comprises of a self tacking jib and electric in-mast furling mainsail and this is example can easily be sailed single handed with lines lead aft, primary electric winch and in mast furling controls at the helm etc. The secure deep cockpit is protected from the elements by the fixed screen, sprayhood and bimini. She offers some nice features like the pulpit seats (a great place to sit whilst under sail) along with beautiful high quality teak, twin wheel steering positions and a drop down transom gate.
Descending the companionway steps the extremely high quality Hanse / Moody joinery and craftsmanship is immediately evident along with the mirror finish high gloss varnish work and the quality leather upholstery. A practical and secure “L” shaped galley is located to starboard close to the centre of the boat for least movement when at sea. The saloon can comfortably seat six around the stunning saloon table with two more individual seats opposite either side of a good sized chart table / navigation area that is exceptionally well equipped. Aft of this is a heads compartment with separate shower stall.
A walk-thru at the forward end of the saloon gives access to the magnificent owner`s cabin with the large centreline double berth and has excellent storage to port and the en-suite heads compartment (again with separate shower stall) to starboard. Stowage here and throughout the boat is as you would expect on a serious bluewater cruiser of this calibre.
There are twin double aft cabins accessed either side of the companionway steps and the modern hull shape giving interior volume results in these having excellent space, headroom and stowage. The immaculate, oversized / powerful and ever reliable Yanmar engine is located under the companionway steps with lift out panels all round giving excellent maintenance access.
This Moody 45AC Classic is a lovely example and beautifully presented. Quality yachts of this calibre are hard to find and she is a head turning modern classic. She is ready to go for new owners to continue cruising in the highest level comfort and safety.
